Gold Coast-born, Melbourne-based producer VYNES has just released her first single for 2021, and the drums will get you bopping. Hit You Up is a track about wanting to text someone when it’s late at night, but they’re not into it. However, VYNES is singing from the perspective of someone that can’t get enough - they’re looking for a “pick me up”. They’ve got this person coursing through their veins, and there’s nothing they can do about it.

I’m a big fan of synth-pop, and Hit You Up is a relentless example. It’s three minutes of pure pop bliss, centered around VYNES' vocals. The bassline, synths and drums all form a great bed for VYNES to sing over, and her voice steals the show. Roll down the windows, go for a late-night drive and let the bass flow through you. By the end of the song, you’ll have turned it up all the way.

Check out Hit You Up below. If you’re trying to get over someone, but it’s not working, then this song might help you work through those feelings. On the other hand, it might also get you lighting up that person’s phone when you’re feeling particularly brave. It’s a dangerous game, but sometimes that’s just how life is. Just don’t blame VYNES if you do send that risky text.
