Melbourne musicians Eleftherios and Jordan Dennis get existential on their new track Crossroads, and it’ll get you thinking about life. Jordan’s vocals alternate between a soulful croon and fast-paced rapping, while Eleftherios’ production lets his voice float along in the breeze. I’m really enjoying the guitar-driven beat that Eleftherios has put together, and Jordan’s voice sounds buttery smooth. Listening to Crossroads, it’s clear to see why the pair are two of the Melbourne hip-hop scene’s favourite musicians - they’ve both found their niche, and they’re looking to push the boundaries. I’m also a bit of a sucker for a musician that’s able to sing the chorus and drop some sick bars during the verses.

There’s a lot more music coming from Eleftherios this year, and he’s set to drop tracks with the likes of KVNYL, Nomad, R.eme.dy, 3K and many, many more. When you’ve spent 12 months in the studio (as a result of the global pandemic, in case you missed it), then you’re going to have some gold in the vault. I’m a big fan of Eleftherios’ production style, because he looks to complement the musician/s he’s working with, rather than overwhelm their vocals. Don’t be surprised when he starts rolling out more and more placements in the near future.

Speaking about working with Jordan, Eleftherios says it was meant to be. “We’ve known each other for a few years now having worked closely with his good friend ThatKidMaz, so I guess we’ve met through the scene/shows/events. Crossroads came about on our first session together, it all fell into place perfectly. Guess it was one of those moments where it felt like it was meant to be, as cheesy as that is!”

Check out Crossroads below. If you’re finding yourself facing a big decision, whether in your personal or professional life, then let Jordan’s voice guide you. Often, the answer is inside us, we just have to be brave enough to let it out, rather than continuing to doubt ourselves. I’m pretty amazed that this emerged from the pair’s first session together, but sometimes things can happen just like that. Funny how life works, hey?
