Writing this one on a Monday, mainly because I’ve had a lot of freelancing to get through (which is good)! I think I also got complacent after a great start to the month views-wise on the blog. Trying to rectify that now. I covered a trio of great tracks last week, and I think they’re all worth checking out.

I think the three tracks also speak to what I’m trying to achieve with the blog - covering a range of music from artists that are on the way up. These are all musicians that you’ll be able to say you listened to before they blew up. That’s enough waffling - go have a read of the reviews, and check out the tunes!

Article Of The Session: Chelsea Warner Embraces The Chaos On The Self-Aware ‘Drama’

Sydney pop artist Chelsea Warner nailed the brief on her new track Drama. She’s described it as a “diss track” to the side of her that doesn’t mind a bit of controversy and chaos in her personal life, and I think it hits home for a lot more people than might care to admit it. It showcases her powerful vocals, and it’s a showstopper. Keep an eye on Chelsea’s music going forward.

MAMMOTH. & Earf Have Teamed Up For The Booming ‘CATNIP’

I had this track passed onto me by Melbourne producer Eleftherios, and I’m glad he sent it through. CATNIP sees MAMMOTH. spitting over Earf’s beat, and it’s a track that ends far too quickly. You’ll find yourself getting hypnotised by MAMMOTH.’s flow!

Behind You Embrace The Primal On The Hyperactive ‘Extremely’

I once saw Death Grips live at the Prince Bandroom, and it was a strange experience. They didn’t have an opener, and we waited for 3 hours before they came on stage. Listening to Behind You reminds me of that night, and Extremely is a hellfire of a track. If you want to feel like the apocalypse is crashing down upon you, then turn this one up loud.

If you’re interested, check out my Spotifynds playlist below. I’ve updated it with all the tracks I’ve written about over the last week, so see if you’re digging any of the tracks!
