Sydney singer-songwriter Andrew Lambrou is a social media powerhouse, and he’s just released his debut single Throne. If you’re a fan of brooding pop music, or artists like the Weeknd, then this will be right up your alley. Andrew’s made a name for himself posting covers of popular artists to social media, but it’s clear that he hasn’t just been covering their music, but studying what makes those artists such great songwriters. He’s spent a lot of years working on his songwriting, and the result is a debut track that is fully-formed, and instantly catchy.

I think part of what makes Throne so impressive is that it truly sounds unique. While there’s definitely influence from artists like the Weeknd, Andrew’s vocals, coupled with production from Dave Hammer, combine to create something that sits outside the trends going on in pop music, yet sounds modern and contemporary. You won’t mix Andrew’s music up with any other artist. He’s coming for the Australian pop music crown with Throne, and he’s not going to stop until it’s resting atop his head.

Speaking about the track, Andrew says it’s about "taking matters into your own hands and visualising what you want to achieve in life, foreseeing yourself at the top before your goals are achieved “sitting on my throne” and never letting go of that self-belief that you can do it!” If you need the inspiration to go achieve something great, then put this song on. It’ll get you feeling ready to take on the world.

Check out Throne below. I’m excited for what Andrew has in store next, as he’s told me that there is a lot more music to come in 2021. After spending the last few years grinding and writing music, he’s set to reap the rewards this year. Stay tuned for what’s coming from Andrew in the near future, because his name is one that you’ll be hearing more and more of in the coming months.
